"What are the most important tasks of a zoo?"
He has held a management position at Cologne Zoo since 2000. Initially as an authorized signatory and, since 2007, as a board member responsible for the entire administrative area (human resources, finance, IT, organization, marketing, and sales).
Since 2004, he has also been managing director of Zoo Gastronomie GmbH, which he founded in 2004, and since 2014 he has also been managing director of Kölner Zoo Shop GmbH, making him responsible for all retail and merchandising activities at Cologne Zoo.
He is also chairman of the Hans and Waltraud Korbmacher Foundation and a member of the board of the Arnulf and Elizabeth Reichart Foundation and the Blumenberg Foundation, all three of which are involved in promoting and further expanding the zoo.
Before joining Cologne Zoo, he worked as a lawyer in the field of "privatization of formerly state-owned land and municipal companies" for various companies. He is still licensed to practice law at the Cologne Regional Court and also has an additional qualification as a commercial lawyer specializing in marketing (FH).
Landsberg has two adult children, enjoys road cycling, and plays tennis.
